 What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a broad term used to describe a number of different breathing techniques, which support mental, emotional, and physical health when practiced regularly.

There are a wide variety of techniques, which all have different effects on the body, mind and spirit, which range from the ancient  pranayama techniques of the Himalayan yogis, to the modern day dynamic techniques, which support somatic healing and trauma release, such as Conscious Connected Breathwork

Most breathing techniques have an effect on the body and the  nervous system, some are calming and some are activating.

Each technique has its own specific purpose, much like having an inner medicine cabinet, and with the medicine of each breathing technique, carrying its own innate wisdom. The breath has its own intelligence, so to become aware of the breath, is to begin the practice of deep listening to the 'felt sense' of present moment awareness in the body and soul.
